Noah Hutchins: What I liked most about Noah was how he was a very real, very raw human. He had his own problems and always put his brothers first. He always let people know what he was thinking and there was no such thing as instant love to him.

 

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

 Perry: Perry has his own responsibilities and wasn't about to let one of the enemy march her way into his heart. But she did and she stole his heart. He went through so much and was just such a good guy *sobs*.

 

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead

 Adrian Ivashkov: When Adrian loves someone, he gives them his whole heart. Which is why he was so devastated when Rose broke up with him and why he would do anything for Sydney. Even start taking up initiative and becoming more responsible. Not too responsible of course. Otherwise he wouldn't be Adrian.

Xander: Xander was the perfect best friend to  Cassia when he was younger and would make the perfect boyfriend. Kind and thoughtful yet protective and strong, what more do you need?

 

Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin

 

Will: Will has a lot of responsibilities. He's hardworking and generous and is just the right guy.  Does that make sense?

Lend: Lend isn't your regular smoldering hot guy. He's a nice guy. Tough but with a sweet spot for his girlfriend.

 Daniel: Daniel is capable of loving someone for thousands of years without his love ever fading. Instead it grows from a smolder to a raging fire.

 Janssen: Janssen is such a good guy. He loves totally and completely and would do anything for his girlfriend.

Grave Mercy by R. L LaFever

 Duval: Duval was a good guy but he was also dangerous and not to be messed with. After all, he tamed an assassin.

The Girl In The Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross

Griffin: Griffin had major trust issues and it took a girl to open him up, which I find insanely sweet. He would cross the ocean for his girlfriend.

Top Ten Villians of 2012

I thought this would be an amazing way to finish up my year. Hopefully this will help you guys learn more about me and my reading tastes.

I decided to do villains today because there are too many villains that often go unrecognized. Plus, who doesn't like hearing about creepy, scary people out for vengeance.

Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver: Lena betrays her family, her people... her best friend. She becomes a rebel against everything she's ever believed in. Hopefully it's for a good cause.

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead: Sydney Sage has problems. She'd becoming her own villain. Her heart is falling for the enemy and turning against everything she believed in. She's betraying her own family.

Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson: We've all dealt with mean girls before. But it's 10x worse when that mean girl is your best friend. It's even worse when that best friend is you. Good thing this is the summer of second chances where almost anything goes.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo: Darkling is handsome and mysterious. He has everyone under his thumb, even the girl who loves him. Little does she suspect he's just using her. Using her to rule the world.

Fever by Lauren DeStefano: One of the worst kinds of villains is not the one killing people to satisfy his desire for blood. It's the one killing people in the name of science. Sacrificing people to save others. Because he's going to succeed. No matter what (or who) it costs.

Scarlet by A. C. Gaughen: This man is evil. He knows everything about the girl who escaped her destiny years ago. After all, he was engaged to her. Who better to track her down, destroying the life she made for herself in the process, and force her to marry... or die.

Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr: In this book, the villain is the father. After all, who better to betray than your daughter?

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: The worst kind of villain is someone you would never expect, even in your wildest nightmares. This villain tops that. No one would ever expect him and he's someone you would expect to protect people. Someone who should be the hero.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer: Ari is evil. And unfortunately for Cinder she's her stepmother. All Ari cares about is her own daughters, so she leaps at the chance to get rid of Cinder. Once and for all.

As Dead As It Gets by Katie Alender: What happens when there's an evil ghost attacking students? When you're her ulterior motive for these attacks? Or When you can't even ask for help because you'll be shipped off to the insane asylum? This is exactly what Alexis is dealing with. And exactly who she's trying to escape from.

What did you think? Yes, some of these people are the "heroes"... but it's of their own story. Sometimes heroes have enemies. Which makes them villains to those enemies. I hope that makes sense. You might have noticed I'm not too big a fan of most contemporary covers. Also, because it's Christmas please forgive me for keeping this post short. This week's topic is my Top 10 Books of 2012. Unfortunately, I already answered this in a Top Ten Tuesday meme, which you can read here. Because of this I decided to still my top ten books but from the category of paranormal/ supernatural books. Keep in mind that they weren't all published in 2012 but I did read them in 2012.

 

Top Ten Supernatural/ Paranormal Books of 2012 

 

 

From Bad To Cursed by Katie Alender: This is a creepy story about ghosts. Yet, it was a creepy story in a good way and I can't wait to finish the trilogy.

 

Vanish by Sophie Jordan: The main character of this story is a dragon. Not just any dragon but a special dragon, and she gets into a lot of trouble because of it.

 

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead: This is a series about vampires. But it's different from any vampire series I've ever read and one of my favorite books for a reason.

 

Rapture by Lauren Kate: This was the finale in a series about fallen angels. Adventurous yet romantic with heart- stopping action, it was everything I was looking for.

 

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin: This book reminded my of the movie Inception. It messed with my mind and left me desperate for more.

 

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: The thing I liked best about this book were the Raven Boys themselves. They were like a family and the best friends anyone could ever ask for. It didn't hurt that Maggie Stiefvater wrote it either.

 

Endlessly by Kiersten White: This was the perfect ending to a stupendous trilogy about a war with paranormal beings.

 

Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer: This is the ending to a trilogy about an alpha werewolf. Her name was Calla and she was a strong heroine who would die for her pack.

 

Until I Die by Amy Plum: This book is about zombies- pretty zombies, but still zombies.

 

Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor: This is a book about an otherworldy war with angels. It had a fantastic plot and writing. I NEED the next book. Now.

 



Top Ten Fantasy/Dystopian Books of 2012

 

 

 

Soulbound by Heather Brewer: Kaya is the strongest heroine I've ever had the pleasure of reading about. She never backs down and makes the most of herself despite the circumstances thrown at her.

 

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman: This is a book about dragons. The thing that sets it apart from other dragon books is that the dragons can shape shift into humans.

 

Scarlet by A. C. Gaughen: This is a fairy-tale retelling of Robin Hood. One of Robin Hood's band is a girl. And she has a secret past that's catching up to her.

 

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo: This is one of the most unique fantasies I've ever read. What makes it even better is the writing, which is eloquently written.

 

Grave Mercy by Robin LaFever: It's about a girl trained by nuns... to be an assassin.

 

Cinder by Marissa Meyer: This was a dystopian that happens to have a Cinderella element to it. However, it's not what it seems.

 

Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver: This book was mind-blowing. A lot of things happened in it and there was a major twist at the end. I am eagerly awaiting it's sequel.

 

Fever by Lauren DeStefano: This is a dystopian like no other. It started out fast- paced and ended with a cliffhanger.

 

The Selection by Kiera Cass: I liked this book mainly because it was an entertaining read. It had it's flaws but I still enjoyed it.

 

Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin: I loved this book so much perhaps because of the main character. She was a partier and had a good life. Despite this she learned to help the people less fortunate than her. People who had no protection from the plague...
