Wow, I don't know what happened but blogger somehow deleted my thoughts on my books and my summary at the end of the post... :/ I just don't have the time to rewrite a paragraph about each book. I'm so sorry but I have to write three reviews.

This week I got a few good books. I don't get books as Christmas presents because I apparently read too fast, but I did get some books from the library. They are mostly books I've been meaning to read but haven't had the time.

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1)  by Julie Kagawa:

I love the idea of this story. It's a vampire novel unlike most others: the vampires are not a beautiful thing in this story. They're monsters. And Ally is one of them.

Take a Bow  by Elizabeth Eulberg:

From the fantastic author of The Lonely Hearts Club and Prom & Prejudice comes a story of all the drama and comedy of four friends who grow into themselves at a performing arts high school.

Emme, Sophie, Ethan, and Carter are seniors at a performing arts school, getting ready for their Senior Showcase recital, where the pressure is on to appeal to colleges, dance academies, and professionals in show business. For Sophie, a singer, it's been great to be friends with Emme, who composes songs for her, and to date Carter, soap opera heartthrob who gets plenty of press coverage. Emme and Ethan have been in a band together through all four years of school, but wonder if they could be more than just friends and bandmates. Carter has been acting since he was a baby, and isn't sure how to admit that he'd rather paint than perform. The Senior Showcase is going to make or break each of the four, in a funny, touching, spectacular finale that only Elizabeth Eulberg could perform.

I've wanted to read this book for several months because I saw a fantastic review of it on a blog. When I saw it on the shelves at the library I jumped and grabbed it. It sounds like a very dramatic high- school read.

 

Divine Madness (Cherub, #5)  Robert Muchamore:

CHERUB agents are all seventeen and under. They wear skate tees and hemp, and look like regular kids. But they're not. They are trained professionals who are sent out on missions to spy on terrorists and international drug dealers. CHERUB agents hack into computers, bug entire houses, and download crucial documents. It is a highly dangerous job. For their safety, these agents DO NOT EXIST.When CHERUB uncovers a link between eco-terrorist group Help Earth and a wealthy religious cult known as The Survivors, James is sent to their isolated outback headquarters on an infiltration mission. It's a thousand kilometers to the closest town, and James is under massive pressure from the cult's brainwashing techniques. This time he's not just fighting terrorists.... He's got to battle for his own mind.

I find these books to be addicting. They're full of action and tense moments. I love the whole idea of a kid as an agent an have enjoyed every book in the series so far. I hope this one will be no different.

Hi everyone! It's Saturday so that means I'm going to be writing about the books I got this week. Only I have to cover two weeks, which means I'd better get started.

I got a bunch of good books in the past two weeks, four of which I'm in love with. My break has started, which means more time to read and more posts. Plus, there's the Christmas cookies I mentioned two weeks ago. And the numerous glasses of white hot chocolate to drink, which I'm obsessed with.

These are the books I saw at the library and nearly screamed in excitement:

 



The Diviners by Libba Bray: I've heard fantastic things about this book. It's a supernatural read about ghosts and includes a mystery. I'm really excited about the setting because it takes place in the 1920s in New York.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: I read the Scorpio Races by Stiefvater a few months ago and was astounded by both the writing and the plot. The Raven Boys, albeit different from the Scorpio Races, was just as good. It was a paranormal with witches and a mystery. Read my review here.

Carnival of Souls by Marrisa Marr: I'm a big fan of Melissa Marr, so when I saw this book I grabbed it. It's a unique fantasy with several povs. Find my review here.

These are books I found that intrigued me:

 



Die For Me by Amy Plum: I already read and reviewed this book. I found it to be alright. It's a supernatural read that takes place in Paris. Read my review here.

Until I Die by Amy Plum: This is the second book in the Die For Me series. I just started reading it and I like it so far.

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto: This is a paranormal book about angels (see the cover). What captivated me the most about it was that the girl was the angel, for once. I hope it's good.

Spirit's Princess by Esther M. Friesner: This is a book with a setting that takes place in the 2nd/3rd century. It's about a pampered daughter of a chieftain who decides she's just as good as any boy. This leads to her going on various adventures. I can't wait to read it!

Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor: I heard so many good things about this book that I couldn't resist. It's a fantasy novel about an otherworldly war. I'm so glad I got it! Read my review here to see why.

The Education of Hailey Kendrick by Eileen Cook: I couldn't forget to get a contemporary read. This book has an interesting premise. It appears to be about secrets and mysteries and friendships. I like the sound of it.

This was a busy week for me but I still managed to get some books. I'm excited to read all of them and can't wait until my Christmas break. I have two weeks off of school then and will have even more time to spend on my blog or reading. And let's not forget the Christmas cookies!



Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer: This is the second book in a trilogy about werewolves. I loved the first book and can't wait to get started on this one. After this series I'm planning on reading Cremer's newest book Invisibility.


Beautiful Darkness by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia: This is the second book in the Caster Chronicles. I'm kind of iffy on these books. I'm still not sure if I like them or not. Maybe this book will show me just how great the series is.




The Causal Vacancy by J.K. Rowling: I have a confession to make. This book scares me. I have such a long history with the Harry Potter series. It was a huge part of my life growing up, and I don't want this book to let me down. I won't be reviewing it on here because this is a ya blog, but I might let you guys know what I think in a sentence or too.

I'm really excited about this weeks STH. Guess why? I received my first ever book for review!!! I'm so happy, I didn't expect to receive this one so soon after starting my blog.

I also got a couple other books I want to share with you.

Beauty by Robin McKinley: I got this book for some light reading. I also wanted it because It's a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. How could I resist?!

Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson: I read Morgan Matson's second book and loved it, so I checked out this one. It was such an amazing contemporary! You can read my review here.

Crusade by Nancy Holder: I've wanted to start this supernatural series for a while. I have several books to catch up on but I don't think it'll be a problem because the main character is a vampire hunter!

 Oath of Servitude by C. E. Wilson: This is the book I received for review. It's about a pixie which is intriguing. Thanks C. E. Wilson! My review will be posted on it tomorrow.

It's probably obvious that my computer didn't get fixed but I can use a laptop now. Yay! So there should be an increase in the number of posts now. You also might have noticed that my blog name changed. The last name couldn't stay because another blog already had it but Devoured by Books is now here to stay.

This week I have four books to show you guys!

List of Books!!! 

• Hearts at Stake: I picked this book up because it had a promising premise. It looks like a quick read and should be entertaining.
• Harbinger: This is a paranormal read about a girl who has visions and is sent to a boarding school.  I love the paranormal and I love boarding schools, which means this book is perfect for me.
• The Survival Kit: I chose this as my contemporary read this week because it looked good. Upon closer inspection I realized it's setting revolved around a tragedy.
• Soulbound: The first book in The Legacy of Tril Series. This is a fantasy about a girl who isn't allowed to defend herself, so she takes matters into her own hands. I just finished this one and it was amazing! The heroine was such a sting character.
